Unfortunately, I am having great difficulty getting my head round it. Habit leads me to address them as male: “Morning, boys, how are you today?” “Teatime, men, come and get it” etc.
I’m warned that this is causing confusion, not least for Rory. Yes, right! There have been several debates over whether we should re-name him, I mean her. Elder daughter considers the options ... Roxy and Ruby are put up as alternatives ... but I fear she’ll always be Rory to me.
