WHEN ex-miner Mike Foster put in his claim for compensation for a crippling lung disease he knew he'd have to wait a few years to see the money.
But ten years later Mike, 67, is still waiting.
Mike has chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, a condition which makes him unable to walk more than a few steps without gasping for breath.
And that's is not his only disability, he also suffers from vibration white finger and has been waiting for compensation for that for seven years.
His solicitors, Raleys, is considering the unusual step of taking the case to court because of the delays. Mike, who survives on disability benefit, has been subjected to countless medical examinations since he began his battle, two this year already.
He has had to travel to Cheshire and all over South Yorkshire to be seen by doctors and wife Janet wants her husband to drop the claim because she fears the stress is too much for him, especially as he had a heart attack 18 months ago.
But Mike, of Hornby Street, Worsbrough Common, is determined to continue his fight.
