A 13-YEAR-OLD boy has been segregated from his classmates and sent to a special referral unit at Kingstone school because of his haircut.
Kyle Tretton has sported a close cut style since he started at Kingstone and over two years swirls and other elaborate designs have been shaved in - with no compliant from teachers according to his parents.
At the moment he boasts two shaved lines above his ears, but on Friday he was given a pink referral slip which explained he was being excluded from mainstream education for having an ‘extreme haircut’.
Mum Clair, of South Crescent, Dodworth, is furious and wants staff to concentrate on her son's academic issues rather than the way he looks.
“We've been told he can’t go back to class until his hair grows out and that could take three weeks, we’re worried about what effect it will have on his education."
Kingstone deputy head Paul Gallagher says he is attempting to organise a meeting with the Trettons.
