A LANDLORD has been ordered to pay £1,300 after flouting licensing regulations by putting on live music events in his pub.
Conrad Baranyai, who runs the Moulders Arms, Summer Street, ignored licensing officers who visited the pub on several occasions and told him he was not licensed for the events.
Despite the warnings he continued to put on live music and was take to court by Barnsley Council. He admitted the offences when he appeared before Barnsley Magistrates on Thursday, May 1, and was fined £1,000 and ordered to pay £300 costs.
Following Mr Baranyai’s sentencing, a council spokesman said: "The court has sent out a strong message to people who think they are above the law.
“Our enforcement officers will continue to track down those who try to get away with unlicensed and unregulated activities.”
