YOUTHS in Royston have set up a social networking group on the Internet about drinking in the park.
The group, Friday Nights in Royston with a Bottle of Cider, was created on Facebook and boasts 62 members.
The majority reminisce about drinking in the park when they were younger but there are also attempts to organise a reunion.
One girl writes 'I am up for a drink down the park, send me details'. Another member writes about drinking in the park and waking up the next morning with a hang over, black eyes and being covered in mud and vomit.
No time or date has been displayed for the reunion but Sgt Mick Pursley, of Royston SNT, admitted drinking was a problem in the park that police are giving lots of attention.
He said there had not been any reports of trouble recently, although a member of the public complained last week that youngsters were walking through the park drinking alcohol.
In March councillors Graham Kyte, Bill Newman and Tim Cheetham sent a letter to parents via the high school to warn them to rein in their kids.
It warned offenders and their families that they could be taken to court, be given a fine or receive an anti social behaviour order.
