POLICE want to park a modified bus in the town centre as a refuge for revellers who have had too much to drink.
Drinkers who can't get home on their own or have been left unsupervised but don't need hospital treatment will be put on the bus until they have sobered up.
Planning is in the early stages but it is anticipated it will work alongside a mobile unit which was trialled in the town centre over the Christmas period. • Full story in this week's Chronicle.
