PRIMARY school children juggled work with fun when the circus came to town.
Pupils at St Helen's Primary, Hoyland swapped maths and science for plate spinning and stilt walking classes taught by the Green Top Circus from Sheffield.
Unicyclist and juggler Tim Byron said the experience was designed to be entertaining and informative. He said: "Hopefully it is good fun but the kids will learn some stuff as well. If they can walk on stilts by the end of it then they'll have learned how to balance."
Headteacher Phil Harrison said the school bid for the circus session in a charity auction.
He said: "We made a bid but actually lost the auction. When the winner found out they had outbid a school they very kindly donated the prize to us.
