POLICE arrested a man under terrorism laws in connection with the incident at Barnsley Interchange last night.

Armed police stopped and 'locked down' a Leeds to Sheffield train at about 4.40pm and the man was arrested.

British Transport Police are investigating the incident which led to the bus and train stations being evacuated. A psokesman this mornign confirmed a man had been arrested and was later released without charge.

A spokesman for the South Yorkshire force said their armed officers were used to contain the incident and minimise public risk.
