A CHRONICLE reader is searching for a relative who her famiily lost touch with many years ago.

Enid Green is searching for Barbara Zoe Harrott (known as Zoe), the daughter of her great-uncle, John Albert Harrott. Zoe lived with her parents in Barnsley Road, Kendray, as a child. She had a sister, Hilda, who would now be 82 year old.

John Albert Harrott, the undermanager, was killed in the Barnsley Main Colliery disaster of 1942 when he was 40.

Mrs Green says she was told that after his death her family lost touch with his wife Edith. She was named Edith Wood before her marriage to John Albert and was born in Fitzwilliam Street, Hoyland Common. "We would like to get in touch with Zoe. Perhaps there are some relatives still living in that area and know of her whereabouts," said Mrs Green.

If anyone has any information about Zoe, please contact Kath Parkin, Editorial Department, Barnsley Chronicle, 47, Church Street, Barnsley.
