BRIDE Charlotte Vaines had planned her wedding with precision.
Charlotte, 27, had arranged to be taken on the two-mile journey from her home at Birdwell lodge, Pilley Lane, Birdwell to St Mary’s Church, Worsbrough Village, in a DAF articulated lorry cab.
Her brother Glynn, a groomsman, spent a day decorating the cab with ribbons and flowers to make sure things were just right.
But restaurant owner Charlotte was served with a surprise after the service.
A man living opposite the church had noticed the fuss when the cab arrived for the wedding to chef Paul Harris and allowed the couple to have their pictures taken in his garden.
Charlotte's mum Carol said: “It was a beautiful garden and a wonderful gesture from the man. In all the commotion on the day, we never found out who he was.”
The cab, which normally tows a 32-tonne trailer, belongs to Charlotte's family's haulage company Colin Vaines and Sons Limited.
Charlotte became a bride of the road because she makes curtains for the company's fleet of trucks.
