FOUR Barnsley people accused of being involved in an alleged race betting scam have been sent to Southwark Crown Court for trial.
Miles Rodgers, Brian Pilkington, Darren Armitage and Joanne Richardson appeared before City of London Magistrates on Monday.
They are all charged with offences relating to the fixing of horse races between December 2002 and September 2004 following the biggest police investigation of its kind.
No date for the trial has been fixed because Prosecutor Jonathan Caplan QC said applications will be made to switch the proceedings to the Old Bailey.
