A PENSIONER spent her savings on a piano only to find it's a heap of junk which makes her playing sound like Les Dawson's.

Now Marjorie Cawthorne, 76, of Wilthorpe, feels totally ripped off and she can't even afford to have it taken away and dumped.

Some of the keys stick, some of them play the wrong notes and some play more than one note at the same time. But Marjorie said the family who sold it assured her it only needed tuning. She said: "I just want it out of my house but I can't even afford to dump it where it belongs."

Piano tuner and repairer Trevor Leeming, of Pianotech, Silkstone Common, said Lindner, made in Ireland, are the worst pianos ever made. They had a design flaw and the company went bust shortly after they started making them.

Can you help Marjorie get rid of her lump of junk? Or can you help find her a new piano? Please call the newsroom on 734290 or e-mail editorial@barnsley-chronicle.co.uk
