COUN Linda Burgess faces the weekend behind bars unless she raises £1,000 for Barnsley Hospice.
She will be arrested in the Chilli restaurant at the top of Market Street tomorrow, handcuffed and marched through the town centre then led to the magistrates court to be charged with not raising enough money for charity.
Coun Burgess faces a night in the court cells with a only a mobile phone for company which she must use to raise the £1,000 to guarantee her freedom.
She said: "I'm a little bit concerned at the moment because so far I've only raised £600 and I don't fancy spending too long in jail."
