WOMBWELL woods became the scene of an illegal rave as revellers partied through the night.
Residents were woken early on Saturday to hear 'loud rhythmic drumming' coming from the middle of the woods.
Although it is not clear exactly where the rave was taking place, cars could be seen parked haphazardly along Dovecliffe Road and T-shirts with spray paint were tied to several of the trees.
Resident Mike Bretton, said: "I came out of the house to walk the dog just after midnight and I could hear this loud drumming sound.
"It was soon joined by screams and shouts which sounded like they were coming from the woods."
