RESIDENTS on the Kexborough estate are 'livid' at Darton High's decision to use their road as the main drop off point for children travelling by car.

The school's management says Brookhill Road is being used to 'improve all aspects where students arrive on time to school and to their lessons'.

The reason is 'health and safety' because the front car park needs to remain as clear as possible at peak times.

Now, at at 8.50am and 3.25pm, parents are required to drop off and collect children at the back entrance to the school at the top of Brookhill Road.

Resident Bob Perry said he counted 54 cars at the back entrance in just one evening, adding: "It's getting beyond a joke now with the amount of traffic coming up and down the street, it's like wacky races round here."
