A TEENAGER is recovering from a punctured lung and broken ribs after the car he was driving hit two walls and landed on its roof.

The 19-year-old was driving down Milton Road, Hoyland, when it is thought he clipped the kerb and lost control of the car.

The crash demolished one garden wall before hitting another and going through a hedge and ended up on its roof in a front garden.

Eric Ivill, whose wall was destroyed, said he was shocked when he came home to find his house surrounded by flashing lights.

He had been to a basketball match and returned about an hour-and-a-half after the accident at 8.30pm.

"I wondered what had gone on when I got home and saw all the flashing lights. Then I saw the car on its roof and the wall.

"He must have hit the wall and flipped over, hit the hedge with his bonnet then turned over. You can still see the windscreen wipers in the hedge.

Police have asked anyone who witnessed the accident to call 01142 202970.
