ONE of the most prized possessions of Barnsley resident Sam Heppenstall is a letter and photograph recording his recent visit to the George Bush Presidential Library and Museum in Texas.
He has had a four-week stay in Texas visiting family and friends.
During the visit to the Presidential Library with his brother Geoffrey, he was invited to ask a question of George Bush (senior) which was: "What advice about the future would you give to your grandchildren?"
Bush's reply, by letter, was: "Barbara and I encourage all of our 17 grandchildren - and all young people - to take full advantage of the many positive opportunities that are available at home, in school, at their place of worship and in the community. I also tell our grandkids to look to the future with confidence."
Sam and Geoffrey (standing) had their photograph taken in the plush surroundings of the Presidential Library. "The whole experience was fantastic," said Sam.
