WOMBWELL students had a taste of the fast and furious in a project aimed to encourage children to study science.
The 'new science lesson' arrived in the form of a Le Mans kit car at the high school on Wednesday. The car, which will be circuiting the Le Mans race track later this year, allowed year ten pupils to study the mechanics first hand as part of the new real science project.
Head of science Jackie Driver said: "We strongly feel that students should discover and experience first hand the component materials that are part and parcel of technology.
"Science should be relevant to the lives of the learners and motivate them towards success - one way to do this is by introducing an investigation on real lives and products."
