ESANDRA and Terry Claydon were sick as parrots when they realised they had paid £165 for a bird that wasn't a parrot.
The couple, of Colley Street, Kendray, were told it was a New Zealand parrot when they bought the bird from a man in Barnsley.
It was only when they went to feed their new pet and checked in a pet book they realised there was a mistaske.
The pair took the bird to a pet shop but even staff were unsure what it was. They asked the seller for a refund but said he just laughed. The number supplied has since been discontinued.
"I feel like I've been conned, it makes me feel mad that someone can trick someone out of money like this.
"I'm hoping someone out there knows what kind of bird Bo is. We just want to know how we can look after him properly."
