THE RSPCA has taken in more than 30 kittens and their mothers over the last few weeks and has blamed the credit crunch.
One kitten was dumped on the steps of a vet at Hoyland because the owner couldn't afford flea treatment and some pregnant cats are being handed in.
Foster carer Julie Guy said: "We need homes but we want people to be aware of the problems of breeding cats and allowing them to have kittens in the current climate. People aren't buying kittens because of the cost it entails." If anyone could give a kitten a home contact Jackie Siddall on 07847374778.
