A TEAM of celebrities from Emmerdale will play a Penistone Church Football Club XI later this month.
The match is part of the club's centenary celebrations and will feature five members of the cast.
They are Ben Freeman (who plays Scott Windsor), Kelvin Fletcher (Andy Sugden), Jamie Hope (Alex Carter), Glen Lamont (Richard Carter) and Luke Tittensor (Gaz Eden).
The team was formed to raise money for charity but plays only a few games a year. Club secretary David Hampshire said: “We are hoping the Emmerdale lads will attract a lot of people to the game.
“It is a privilege they have agreed to play because they are obviously very busy and it is good they have taken time out.
“Hopefully the match can be a boost the club’s profile.”
