A Barnsley rugby player has gained a scholarship to a professional rugby league team in Sheffield.
Michael Limb, 15, of Monckton Way, Royston, has been offered the scholarship with Sheffield Eagles after he was spotted by a talent scout.
Michael, who has played with Barnsley RUFC for three seasons, said: "I did four weeks' training and was offered the scholarship and of course I accepted. I was over the moon and really excited."
He will have to leave Barnsley RUFC before Christmas to play for a league side but is not sure which one.
After leaving school, Michael will attend a college with the Sheffield Eagles where he will be able to train and continue his A levels and may get picked for the first team.
