CHARISMA has been banned from playing music after inspectors heard copyrighted material being played there without a licence.
The bar and night club, on Market Street, Hoyland, was the subject of a High Court order made in London on Tuesday.
Proprietor Michael Davies said he was unaware the licence was out of date until the Chronicle brought it to his attention and it would be updated as soon as possible.
He added: "I've been on the phone today and received paperwork. As far as I was aware I had the licence and it's going to be investigated further."
The 'pay-up or shut-up' order was imposed after an inspector visited Charisma on September 17 last year.
