All you need to do is pick a good quality photo of your happy hound and send it in to us.
Valda Cruise, of Bolton-upon-Dearne, is glad she did last year when her Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, Harvey, wowed the judges at the live final to be crowned Barnsley’s top dog.
Now 18-months-old, Harvey is still revelling in the limelight.
Valda said: “I enjoyed the final and the kids loved it as well, my daughter was in tears when Harvey won. I distributed the wines and spirits hamper I won amongst my friends who helped get votes for Harvey.
“The vet treatment has been a Godsend because you never know when there will be an emergency and we don’t have to worry about the money but luckily he hasn’t needed it so far.
“We won’t be entering again this year but I will definitely be casting an eye over all the dogs in this year’s supplement.â€
Vets4Pets, of Wilthorpe Road, will be the main competition sponsor and is offering the winning dog £500 worth of free veterinary treatment. Nine runners up will also receive a single free booster vaccination. Associate sponsors are Stan Plus Stan 2, professional photographers, of Shambles Street, who is offering the winning dog a session and 12x10 photograph worth £170. The nine runners up will also get a session and 5x7 picture worth £100 each.
The Mall Barnsley are giving the winner a £100 Mall giftcard and two runners up will each receive a £50 giftcard.
Barnsley Metrodome is providing the venue for the grand final which will be on Monday June 28 where representatives from Barnsley Animal Rescue Charity (BARC) will put together a mini dog show for the final ten cute canines.
