CHANGES to the junctions of the Peel Centre retail Park onto Harborough Hill Road have been approved, even though councillors were concerned it would increase pollution.
A new road to the Peel Centre will come out onto Harborough Hill behind and uphill of Halfords. It will be for service and delivery vehicles only, leaving the existing entrance and exit for customers.
It will mean the service road between Halfords and Focus DIY can be removed, and ‘landscaped’, but Labour Coun Doug Birkinshaw thinks it means new shops will be put in its place.
