A CURIOUS cat stuck 40ft up a conifer for six days is back on terra firma – and has been grounded.
Adventurous Millie clambered up the tree at the rear of her owner’s house on Smithies Street but couldn’t get down.
Owners Simon Marsh, 41, and Donna Bracken, 35, contacted the fire brigade, a tree surgeon and a cherry picker firm to help rescue the one-year-old moggy.
Fire-fighters used a hosepipe to encourage her down but their efforts failed. The tree surgeon did grab her but when he slipped, spooked Millie climbed even higher. So, Simon called in scaffolding firm Speedy.
Workers put up a tower and tried to coax her with food.
