‘ALL hell broke loose’ in Hoyland on Monday, when a fight between two girls spilled onto the streets and about 100 pupils cheered them on.
The girls, from Kirk Balk School, started fighting near the war memorial on West Street at about 3.15 pm.
A crowd gathered around and some even stood on the roof of a car to get a better view. There are still footprints on the car roof, which remained parked on West Street on Wednesday. A cheesecake, believed to have been made by a pupil in school that day, was thrown at one pupil and hit a car.
Michael Hardy of Kirk Balk said: “They were hanging around outside the corner house and all of sudden two lasses came around the corner and all hell broke loose.â€
