A MAN is to make a sentimental return to the pub where he grew up.
David Fisher, 46, has taken over The Commercial Inn, Summer Lane, Barnsley where he spent the first ten years of his life.
His parents Jack and Kitty, who are both now dead, ran the pub between 1963 and 1973.
He said memories of the pub included when it flooded because of heavy rain and an entertainer called 'Piano Bill'.
Mr Fisher spent about 17 years as a sales representative for Howarth Timber and ran the George and Dragon in Summer Lane between 2000 and 2003 and the Keel Inn, Canal Street between 2003 and this year.
His partner is Lisa Sephton, 39, and he has a son Billy, two.
