GRITTING on side roads and estate roads should begin later today, the council has announced.
Grit drivers focus most of their attention on the more than 300 miles of 'priority routes' but following a shift change this morning, work has started on so-called secondary routes.
And when these have been treated, work will start on side roads and estate roads.
A council spokesman said: "To assist in the snow clearing operations on the estate it would be appreciated if the public could remove as many vehicles from the carriageway."
