A coach carrying primary school children was involved in an accident on the M1 in Barnsley.
The 52-seater Scania was travelling north. At about 10.30pm police were called after the vehicle left the carriageway and rolled down an embankment.
Officers said 31 youngsters were on the coach as well as three adults. None were injured. A force spokesman said the coach had been stationary before it rolled backwards down the slope.
The driver, 41, of Harrogate, was not injured.
