Youngsters have started a number of grass and rubbish fires - prompting a warning from emergency crews.
A spokesman at Cudworth Fire Station, on Tumbling Lane, said there had been a spate of incidents over the last week. Incidents have been recorded on Snydale Road and Lunn Lane in Cudworth, Pontefract Lane in Lundwood and Monk Bretton woods.
He added: "They don't realise what they're doing. We're taking resources away to deal with things like that when we may be needed for something more serious."
There had also recently been a number of wheelie bins set on fire at the pit stack in Carlton, which take up to an hour to put out.
