Avocets have hatched at the RSPB Old Moor reserve for the first time.
Three avocets, which were once extinct in Britain and are featured on the RSPB logo, landed at the wetlands centre at the end of April, and hatched two chicks this week.
Assistant warden Kate Thorpe said: "At the moment, they're little more than bundles of fluff, but when they grow up they'll be stunning to look at.
"They're instantly recognisable with their curved bill and black and white plumage and visitors can easily see the parents and new chicks from two hides on the reserve."
