A man who bit a pregnant woman twice during a drunken attack has been jailed for 16 weeks.
David Patrick Clayton, 30, of Tudor Way, Worsbrough, bit Shaunna Winnard on the arm after drinking two litres of cider, Barnsley Magistrates' Court was told.
Jayne Ormrod, prosecuting, said: "Later, he grabbed Miss Winnard by the hair, pulled her to the floor and bit her again."
Matthew Shepherd, defending, said it was a one-off attack. He said: "Mr Clayton drank too much and acted out of character. He is shocked at how he over-reacted.
"He was so upset about the incident that he has not had a drink since. He has learned a bitter lesson."
Clayton admitted assault at an earlier hearing.
