SIX ‘remarkable’ youngsters from Barnsley Scouts represented the community at the prestigious King’s Scout Award parade held at Windsor Castle recently.

The delegation from Barnsley Scouts - which includes Sophie Ditcher, Bert Wallace, Megan Cook, Charlotte Cook, and Charlie Oakley - joined over 2,000 guests and award recipients from across the United Kingdom for this once-in-a-lifetime celebration.

Joe Webster was part of the elite ‘Team of Ten’ selected to run the service.

The parade saw the Scouts march through the historic streets of Windsor and into the Quadrangle of Windsor Castle, where they were reviewed by a member of the Royal Family.

Later, they participated in a private service of celebration at St. George’s Chapel within the castle grounds.

The King’s Scout Award represents the pinnacle of the Scouting journey, with recipients demonstrating exceptional courage, kindness, and commitment to community service.

These young people from Barnsley have proven their dedication to tackling life’s adventures while helping others.

George Akid, lead volunteer for the Barnsley Scouts, told the Chronicle: “We are incredibly proud of our amazing team.
