WEDNESDAY was a busy evening for Barnsley loanees whose season is still ongoing.
Vimal Yoganathan was named player of the match for his performance in Oldham Athletic’s 4-0 home win over Halifax Town in the National League play-off quarter-final on Wednesday.
The 19-year-old midfielder set up the fourth goal and was praised for his performance.
Oldham are now due to play another Yorkshire club when they visit York City on Tuesday evening in the one-legged semi-final.
The final is at Wembley on June 1.
Kacper Łopata could play in relegation play-offs in the SPL with Ross County.
The defender came off at half-time in his side’s 1-1 draw at fellow strugglers Dundee on Wednesday, in which they scored a 96th-minute penalty.
They are two points adrift in second-bottom and finish the league season at home to Motherwell on Sunday.
Lopata, who has a year remaining on his contract at Barnsley, has played nearly every game for the highlands club this season.
Whoever finishes second-bottom must play a two-legged relegation play-off against the winner of the Scottish Championship play-offs – with the games on May 22 and 26.
Sam Cosgrove was not in the squad for either leg as Stockport County lost their League One play-off semi-final to Leyton Orient.
The striker was released by the Reds last week.
