HIGHAM secured their first win of the season by skittling Worsbrough Bridge for 51 in a South Yorkshire League Division Three derby.
Leah Burkinshaw took five for 16 and George Deegan three for three, then Higham won with four down.
Darfield won by seven wickets against Houghton Main in Division One.
Riaz Khan made 74 off 65 balls with four sixes in Houghton’s 152. Anees Hussain took five wickets for Darfield then Joe Stickland scored 54 not out.
Darfield played in the Twenty20 Plate on Sunday. They chased 177 for a nine-wicket win over Treeton with Stickland taking three wickets then carrying his bat with 77 not out while Jabari Mills added an unbeaten 81.
Stickland took four more wickets but Darfield were bowled out for 72 chasing Whiston’s 184 so crashed out.
Back in the league, Monk Bretton were removed for 96 in a six-wicket loss at Coal Aston.
Penistone fell 16 runs short chasing 248 at home to Barnsley Woolley Miners 2nd XI. Yorkshire youngster Charlie Taylor scored 107 for Barnsley then Chris Walmsley made 68 for Penistone.
Barnsley’s second team then made 400 at Hanging Heaton 2nd XI who were out for 82 in the Crowther Cup. Alfie Gosney scored 100, Freddie Chapman 90 and Ollie Chapman-Stott 67 not out.
Wombwell Main fell 13 runs short chasing 247 at Sheffield Collegiate 4th XI in Division Four. Ryan Linney took four wickets then Jonathan Scaife made 85.
Kexborough’s 160 was not enough in an eight-wicket loss at Sprotbrough. Ulaganathan Sayanthan made 54.
Barnsley Woolley Miners 3rd XI fell 11 runs short chasing 147 at Thorncliffe and Wentworth. Ollie Chapman-Stott made 50 not out.
Silkstone United’s 206 was not enough in a six-wicket loss to Hatfield in Division Five. Thomas Grimshaw hit 52.
Green Moor’s winning start to the Division Six season ended with a one-wicket loss at home to Caribbean Sports. They were out for 144 then Satvir Singh took four wickets but the visitors’ last pair scored 26.
Dearne fell 51 runs short chasing 210 at home to Kexborough 2nd XI in Division Eight.
Craig Brook made 64 for Kexborough and Jack Wraith 60 for Barnsley.
Monk Bretton 2nd XI removed Barnby Dun 2nd XI for 103 in an eight-wicket win.
Houghton Main 2nd XI chased 93 with four wickets down at home to Norton Woodseats 2nd XI.
Shokoor Ahmadzai took four for nine.
Wombwell Main 2nd XI chased 181 for a nine-wicket win at home to Hallam 4th XI. Connor Turford took four wickets, Elliot Mann carried his bat with 63 not out and Rob Owen smashed an unbeaten 89 off 76 balls.
Back in Division Three, Wath 2nd XI chased 196 for an eight-wicket win over Frecheville. Isaac Wainwright carried his bat with 89 not out.
Musa Altaf was out for 97 as Elsecar 2nd XI posted 251 in a ten-wicket win over Oughtibridge 2nd XI in Division Two.
Cawthorne 2nd XI won by 17 runs at Millhouses Works.
Brennan Wilson made 91 in their 266 then Harry Airstone took four wickets.
They then won at Scholes 2nd XI in the Crowther Cup. Spencer Wiles hit 94 in Cawthorne’s 277 then Airstone took four wickets as the hosts were out for 144.
Rockingham 3rd XI dismissed Barnsley Woolley Miners 4th XI for 82 in a three-wicket Division Seven win.
Worsbrough Bridge 2nd XI won by 96 runs at Wath 3rd XI in Division Nine.
Darren Newton opened with 74 off 47 balls then Jonathan Holden added 93 from 65 in Worsbrough’s 251. There were four wickets each for Wath’s Dylan Gibbs and Bridge’s Adnan Asher.
Elsecar 3rd XI beat Eden Grove Parklands by 98 runs. Richard Stump (81 not out) and Joseph Kemp (68) led Elsecar to 228.
Barnsley Woolley 4th XI won by 75 runs at Hallam 4th XI in the Billy Oates Memorial Cup. Oliver Heseltine scored 80 in Barnsley’s 176 then Harry Egginton took four for seven.
