A woman suffered serious injuries when her car collided with another vehicle in Cawthorne.
The smash happened today at about 7.30am on Lane Head Road, at the junction of Silkstone Lane. The female motorist was in a silver Toyota Yaris and the male motorist was in a Ford Focus.
She sustained serious injuries and was taken to Northern General Hospital, and the male driver received minor injuries and was taken to Barnsley Hospital.
The road was closed until about 9.30am and police officers are keen to trace any witnesses to the collision, particularly one person who reportedly left the scene.
