Former Yorkshire player Chris Schofield, now 49, made 81 to lead the Monks to 244 then Joshua Van Oudtshoorn and Scott Latimer took three wickets each.
For Houghton, Ian Simon took four wickets and Vigneshwar Ramesh three.
Darfield fell out of the promotion places after they were bowled out for 122 in a five-wicket home loss to Warmsworth.
Penistone fell 45 runs short chasing 259 at home to Whitley Hall 2nd XI.
Connor Smythe made 53.
Worsbrough Bridge’s 225 was not enough in a seven-wicket loss to Norton Oakes in Division Three.

Higham were bowled out for 111 chasing 186 at home to Sheffield Collegiate 3rd XI.
Isaac Wainwright carried his bat with 94 not out in Wath 2nd XI’s win at Caribbean Sports. Lochlan Gannon added 56 in Wath’s 194 then the hosts were bowled out for 119.
Rockingham 2nd XI chased 136 for a six-wicket win over Bradfield.
There were four wickets for Alan Lockwood and three stumpings by Mason Bannister.
Kexborough were bowled out for 108 chasing 152 at Sheffield University Staff in Division Four.

Wombwell Main fell 50 runs short chasing 197 against Barnsley Woolley Miners 3rd XI.
Wombwell’s Ayden Dawson and Matt Tonks took three wickets then Tom Peck made 53. Zain Ali struck four times for Barnsley.
Green Moor chased 175 for a six-wicket win at Scholes and Harley in Division Six.
Curtis Coles made 74 not out for Green Moor who are fourth and eight points off the two promotion places.

Wombwell Main 2nd XI chased 162 with three wickets and three balls left against Houghton Main 2nd XI.
Gulagha Sadiq made 53 for Houghton then Wombwell’s Rob Owen scored 52 not out.
Elsecar 2nd XI won by 35 runs at Sheffield United in Division Two.
Kieran Higgins carried his bat with 83 not out in Elsecar’s 236.

Chris Bound made 121 off 87 balls in Silkstone United 2nd XI’s win over Whiston Forge 2nd XI. Bound hit 20 fours and three sixes as Silkstone posted 253 before Whiston were all out for 182.
Charlie Whitehead carried his bat with 101 not out in Wath 3rd XI’s win over Fishlake 2nd XI.
Joe Wainwright added 55 in Wath’s 222 then Ollie Burrows took four for nine as Fishlake were bowled out for 63.
Worsbrough Bridge 2nd XI chased 130 for a five-wicket win over Oughtibridge 3rd XI. Leon Kemp took four wickets then Adnan Asher hit 51.
