BARNSLEY Hospice is urging the community to come together this summer and ‘bake’ a difference.

The Big Barnsley Bake Off, which will run throughout August, is the town’s chance to show its support for the hospice.

Locals are being ecnouraged to hold a bake sale at home, at work or in the local community.

The hospice has created a free fundraising pack which contains everything you need - minus the cake.

It includes posters, decorations, cake toppers and fundraising games, as well as recipes from the hospice’s catering team and Barnsley broadcaster, Sam Nixon.

Vicky Stead, community relationships manager at Barnsley Hospice, said: “We’re asking the people of Barnsley to bake something yummy and raise some money by joining the Big Barnsley Bake Off this summer.

“Hosting a bake sale is always a popular fundraiser, whether at work or home, and we’re pleased to share this pack to make it even easier for those wanting to make a difference.

“We’re proud to deliver our services free of charge, but this is only possible thanks to the kindness and generosity of our community.
