YOUNG Romeo Wharton has his eyes set on getting onto the bill at music festivals over the next year after releasing his latest EP.
The 14-year-old goes by the stage name RØMEØH - and he released his second EP titled Buzzer Beater recently.
The teenager, who attends Netherwood Academy, started playing the ukulele when he was just six years old - and after graduating from that class at the Yorkshire Academy of Music he began to play the guitar.
The Young Champions finalist has come on leaps and bounds over the last year - and he admits his latest EP is different to his first.
He told the Chronicle: “My first EP was a lot heavier.
“This one is probably more towards indie pop.
“I tried to use more examples of my life while I was writing this.
“It took me one or two weeks to write it and then about a month with production to make sure it was perfect.”
Romeo has been performing gigs on a more regular basis recently - and he’s hoping to make it onto the lineup at a festival in the coming months.
“I’m getting a lot more comfortable when I’m on stage now,” he said.
“I’ve done Barnsley Live and Suppa Club.
“I’d like to build more of a cult following.
“If I could make it to a festival over the next year then that would be amazing.”
