Young Lauren Gilroy got quite a surprise when she opened her first packet of Olympic stickers - and pulled out her mum.
The eight-year-old plucked table tennis champion Sue Gilroy from the London 2012 sticker collection.Shawlands pupil Lauren and Sue, 39, had no idea she featured in the collection.
"It was quite a surprise, I have never been a sticker before," Sue said.
"My sister bought a sticker album for her little girl and then got one for Lauren and Ryan (Sue's son).
"They were opening the packet and the first one they pulled out was me. It was very funny. I had no idea I was going to be a sticker."
Royal Mail are doing a series of stamps which I knew about so now I'm going to be a stamp and a sticker."
Teacher Sue, of Baslow Crescent, Dodworth, is training hard to compete in the Paralympic Games in August.
"There's a lot of hard work to do. It's constant training for six to seven days a week on the run up to it. You just focus on training and trying to do your best.
"I'm sure the excitement will build through August."
