Police have renewed an appeal for information and offered a £1,000 reward for information six months after a man was left dying in the road.
Peter Topping was killed on Co-Operative Street, Goldthorpe, when he was struck by a vehicle.
It is believed he was lying in the road when the collision occurred. Officers failed to identify the vehicle, which was driven away towards Doncaster Road.
Sgt Andy Noble from the Serious Collision Unit said extensive enquiries had been carried out.
He added: “Peter Topping was a well known and well liked member of the local community and his family are finding it difficult coming to terms with his death. We hope that somebody will come forward with the information that will assist us”.
The incident occurred at about 8.25pm on Thursday, December 29. Anyone with information should contact 101 quoting incident 779 of that date.
