Barnsley led 2-0 on 87 minutes but were pegged back for a 2-2 draw at Wycombe Wanderers on Saturday.

Full league debutant Reyes Cleary opened the scoring midway through the first half then Davis Keillor-Dunn doubled the lead early in the second half.

But the hosts scored on 88 and 93 minutes which meant the Reds did not end a four-match losing run going into the International break.

Conor Hourihane made one change from the loss to Port Vale the previous week as Cleary made his first start in the league for the Reds, replacing David McGoldrick. Patrick Kelly was on the bench ahead of Vimal Yoganathan.

Barnsley should have taken the lead when Connor Taylor tried to pass back to his goalkeeper and badly underhit it so Davis Keillor-Dunn was played clean through but goalkeeper Will Norris denied him one-on-one.

Taylor was punished by another big mistake on 25 minutes when he was tackled by Cleary on the edge of his box who went clean through and found the bottom left corner.

Barnsley went into the break having barely been tested at the back after a fairly low-key first half which they shaded.

Wycombe almost levelled within seconds of the break but Jamie Mullins blazed over from about 15 yards out after Sam Bell brought down a left-wing cross.

The second goal saw Jack Shepherd’s long ball brilliantly chased down and won by Cleary who left Fin Back scrambling on the floor as he sped into the box and picked out Jono Bland who hit the the post with a shot from the edge of the box. Luca Connell and Adam Phillips then worked the ball to Keillor-Dunn on the right of the box who smashed in from a tight angle.

Ex-Red Cauley Woodrow headed wide from a corner as did Taylor. They pulled one back ob 88 minutes when Donnell McNeilly beat Earl on the right of the box and whipped in a low cross which Bell tapped home.

Substitute Alex Lowry’s long-range strike then crept into the bottom right corner through a crowd of bodies.
