A WORSBROUGH man who raped his teenage victim has been jailed after his brave victim spoke out years later.
Between 1989 and 1992, Sean Gamble built trust and friendship with his victim, offering her a smoke of his cigarettes and told her that his actions were ‘their secret’.
He used this trust to sexually abuse and rape her.
His victim bravely came forward to the police years later in the hope that he would not do the same to somebody else.
Gamble, 57, of Dawcroft Avenue, pleaded not guilty to two counts of rape of a girl under the age of 16 and six counts of indecent assault on a girl under the age of 14, but was found guilty of all offences by a jury at Sheffield Crown Court on May 15.
He was jailed for 11 years at the same court on Tuesday.
