LOCAL farmers are set to hoof it for a good cause.

Kelly Richardson and her business partner Nicola Brearley, of Lower Coates Farm, have concocted an inventive fundraising escapade.

In order to raise money for Farmspace Barnsley, their onsite alternative education provision, they will undertake a run - with a baa-rmy twist.

On Friday, October 31, at 10am, Kelly and Nicola will run from Fox Valley Shopping Centre to Barnsley town centre - dressed as an inflatable pig and cow.

Farmspace will give children who struggle in mainstream school the chance to build real-life skills and confidence.

The children will learn about growing fresh produce, cooking nutritional meals, rearing eggs from scratch and more.

Now, the duo are calling on locals to support their mission.

Kelly and Nicola are encouraging the people of Barnsley to spread the word: bring banners, cowbells (literally) and laughs to cheer them on.

They have extended their challenge, encouraging local businesses and people to undertake fundraising events for their worthy cause.

Kelly said: “The demand is overwhelming.

“The phone rings day and night - parents in tears, desperate for help because their child has been out of education for months, even years.

“We can help.

“We have the land.

“We have the facilities.
