NEIL Farrugia says Barnsley's quality shone through in the end as they left it late to dump National League York out of the FA Cup.
Josh Stones opened the scoring for York before Davis Keillor-Dunn levelled for the Reds the half-hour mark.
The Reds' striker then put the Reds 2-1 in front in the 77th minute before Mark Kitching levelled the game for York two minutes from time.
But centre-back Marc Roberts won the game in the 92nd minute thanks to a great header from a Connell corner.
Farrugia played a pivotal role throughout and was one of Barnsley's better players.
He said: "I thought they were quite good.
"It was a pretty tough game all together.
"They played good football and it was a tough game but I think ultimately we showed some quality at the end and that's what led for the win.
"I thought we were slow to start and then all credit to them.
"Eventually we got on top and then I thought we were a bit more comfortable when we managed to just be more aggressive."
Farrugia's hard work paid off and he picked up the assist for Davis Keillor-Dunn's second goal.
"It was brilliant to assist," he said.
"I was thinking about shooting, but then just out of the corner of my eye I saw Davo and no one was with him.
"I just instinctively just passed it to him instead of shooting and it worked out well in the end."
He says head coach Conor Hourihane was not happy with the players at half-time.
He added: "(He said) we had to just be more aggressive and make sure we're on top of the second balls.
"We had to increase the energy, but I definitely think we did that in the second half."
