A BARNSLEY pub is extending their support to the homeless and OAPs.

The New Longcar, on Racecommon Road, is run by Callum Brett and Thomas Taylor who are both passionate about helping others.

Twice a month throughout the winter, Callum and Thomas open the pub on a Monday, in aid of the homeless and OAPs.

They are offered a free two-course meal and they are welcome to stay and chat.

Callum’s caring attitude came from hardship, experiencing homelessness himself and relying on the kindness of strangers.

Now, he resolves to help out anyone he can who is suffering hardship.

He said: “A couple of years ago I helped a homeless shelter for a couple of weeks.

“I’ve always done something since.

“It’s just I don’t want to see anyone left without anyone.

“I’ve been in this situation and people have helped me out.

“It’s our turn to help out now.”
