MARC Roberts said 'it shows how far we've come' that his Barnsley teammates were disappointed with a point away at Stockport County.
The Reds led through Vimal Yoganathan in the first half but were cruelly denied the three points in the dying moments as Callum Connolly volleyed home to level the game.
Roberts said: "It’s probably a good point in the end.
"It was a good performance all round.
"The first half was everything we’re about.
"We were really positive, front footed.
"We played lovely stuff at times.
"We probably should have killed the game off when we were on top.
"If we get a second it probably kills them a little bit and we win the game.
"You’ve got to give them a bit of credit because the last 20 minutes or so they had us pinned back and defending for our lives a little bit.
"We worked on that.
"In previous times we might have crumbled there.
"They've scored late on and it's a bitter pill to swallow.
"Everyone’s disappointed.
"Overall, it's steps in the right direction.
"It's not an easy place to come.
"They're a difficult team to play against."
Roberts said it shows how far the side have come since last year that they are disappointed with a draw away at the Hatters.
He added: "It shows how far we’ve come that we're disappointed with a point.
"I think we’ve always said it that if we get our bit right, no matter who we're playing, we're a real good test for anybody.
"You've got to look at them and give them the respect that they deserve.
"They set off this year really good, they were a really good side last year so they’ve always been there consistently the past few years.
"It's a tough place to come.
"They present their own challenges and you’ve got to deal with that.
"We’re disappointed we couldn't kill the game off while we were on top.
"I don't think they’ve been in the best of form and we've won a couple on the bounce so the start was really important.
"You get your purple patches in the season and you have to take your chances when they’re there.
"It's a point in the right direction at the end of the day.
"A lot of people will come here and crumble under that pressure and we stood up to a lot of it.
"You have to take the positives with where the group is and roll on into the next games."
