A BARNSLEY model has launched the UK’s first ever LGBT+ beauty pageant.
Swayze Leigh Best, a proud lesbian pageant queen and multi-titleholder, created Eleganza UK to give every individual across the pride spectrum a platform to shine.
The system crowns three titleholders - Miss, Mr and Drag - and offers an exceptional prize package, including the opportunity to model in a major makeup campaign.
The Eleganza UK Grand Finals will take place on May 30 at Doncaster Little Theatre.
Ten per cent of all ticket sales will be donated to LGBT charities.
Alongside Eleganza UK, Swayze also serves as Director for Miss Dream United Kingdom, a non-contracted practice pageant designed for young girls through to contestants.
She told the Chronicle: “It’s such an exhilarating feeling to be behind the scenes, making sure everything is perfect and creating those WOW moments for the audience.
“I’m so thrilled to have turned my own dreams into a reality - and even more honoured to help others achieve their dream crowns too.”
