CONOR Hourihane is hoping for consistent performances from his Barnsley team when they play five games over the next 15 days.

After visiting Exeter City on Saturday, the Reds are due to host Mansfield Town on Boxing Day, which is Friday of next week, then Lincoln City the following Monday evening, before travelling to Wigan on New Year’s Day and Port Vale on January 4.

Asked what we he wants to see from his team during the festive period, Hourihane told the Chronicle: “Hopefully consistency.

“These five games will come thick and fast. We’re really looking to hit this period head on and picking up as many points as possible.

“Potentially we will learn more about the group. With the nature of the game we’re in, you will constantly learn about players in training. There might be something that crops up which I really like or don’t like. We’re learning about players the whole time.”

Meanwhile, Barnsley’s league games at home to Northampton and away at Stevenage have been rearranged for Feburary 3 and 10 respectively.
